who has a short-term vision with respect to copper will lose the greater prize. Quality copper assets around the world are few, and they are slowly being gobbled-up. Why? It's simple: copper will go into deficit soon; consumption will out-strip production. Oh, and cobalt will be in extreme high demand too. Nevsun was just gobbled-up by the Chinese today. BHP announced a 6.1% position in Sol Gold yesterday. Connect the dots people!

Yes, that is true.  All the majors are after good copper assets worldwide.  Copper is expected to be in deficit starting in 2020 while the copper market will be tight in the next 2 years.  Nevsun is valued at $1.8 billions Cdn. with the latest Zijin offer. Nevsun board has recommended shareholders to accept this offer.  Nevsun Timok project has 0.89 million tons of copper ...more

At this stage of development ($8,100 GDP per capita), Copper demand in China will continue to grow medium and longer term if we use the historic copper consumption of US.
