Big Thing Coming

Congo Election result is coming soon within a week. It doesn't look very smoothe process so far. I hope there is not any violence or fraud, but the things going on shows sign of fraud.

I do believe that recent tanking of SP is because of the uncertainty coming from this election and those are all applied on current SP at this level. Unless there is a direct hit on Katanga by any violent action, probably nothing will get worse from this point.

And a big hope is that Fayulu win and transition of power is done peacefully. This will be followed by an immediate HUGE GAIN of SP. Fayulu is the friendly one to foreign investors and he has a good chance of winning it unless there is a big fraud. But as I said, it looks like that something dirty is going on already. So, better to expect and be ready for some unpleasant excitement.

I was just about to write a similar post then I saw yours.   I think largely the SP is a reflection of potential political turmoil much more than any fundementals and most likely will remain so until investors are confident in a stable goverment.   While I agree that Fayulu would likely be the best candidate and also likely represent the will of the people I doubt that the ...more

I cross my finger for us all & people of Congo. ...more

I'm going to agree to disagree here If you look at IVN over the past 5 days (Dec 24 to Jan 2), you will notice that IVN is up 12.5%, whereas KAT is down 3.85% I think the KAT's lacklustre performance is due to two reasons: Need to fully resolve the Custom Restrictions of regarding the Imports & Export of Copper Resumption of Cobalt Sales There are however short term ...more

The USD is too strong and hopefully it starts to weaken a bit.

Seeing as IVN has a mine in development in South Africa and the stock's increase in value has coincided with progress on the mine's development I would argue you are not comparing apples to apples.

There is little value in comparing stock performance over an ultra thin holiday trading period.  A single buyer or seller in decent size could easily move the market.
