If Mutanda's (cobalt) mining cost is unsustainable at this price level, how about other miners! Suppply uncertainty alone is enough to put pressure on big auto makers worldwide to restocking while price remain low - demand will drvice the price higher.

@JanineK2239HH it is my understanding that Mutanda is running out - or has run out - of oxide ores and without substantial additional CapEx, GLEN will have no way of processing the transitional and then sulphide ores. So essentially what it is they're saying is that at current Cu & Co prices, there won't be any further investment there. These are my views only. Thanks for reading.

Yes finish that thought....therefore which automaker stands the most to lose given their massive investment? You’re so close Janine. As for supply, yes if the automakers want to meet their timeline goals,  but Glencore now will have the advantage to locked in higher fixed prices setting potentially a new benchmark, since they basically control 25% of total cobalt supply.
