RE: RE: Jilin Jien and profit
RE: RE: Jilin Jien and profitvictor2009,
Then tell us why has the stock done so poorly of late. It's not been due [entirely] to the price of nickel as that has remained pretty resilient. Yes the economy IS in the crapper and will probably stay that way - likely for years to come.
The problem for LBE shareholders is that there is no excitement over LBE , due in part to essentially one company owning it. If you don't agree - tell us why you don't agree. Stocks go up on the expectations of profits but when one shareholder is also the largest owner - they call the shots. They can reduce production if that favors the bottom line or they can expand the production if that favors the bottom line. Do you or I have any impact on the future of this company? Nope, we're merely along for the ride. You may disagree but my reasoning is anything but flawed - why do you work so hard to NOT see what everyone else [well, most] do see? As for my agreeing with Rocky's post - I do and he's right. Again we do not know what's in the agreement between Jilin Jien prior to gaining control but if they decided to slow or even halt production that is their right as majority owners. We might have recourse in the courts but don't hold your breath. I don't think they would do that arbitrarily or to hurt us but they DO have controlling interest and we don't.
There is talk of Liberty Mines becoming a "mid tier" nickel producer but what exactly does than mean? Right now I guess that means we're a "small tier" producer since we're not producing much nickel. What will it take to become a mid tier producer? We are limited in expanding the mill so if we do produce more ore we'll have to send to Xstrata or some other entity for processing/refining. As I look at the past year's stock performance it's not been encouraging - more like death by a thousand cuts - very slow. We are, to the penny, where we were one year ago before we were bailed out yet much good has happened. It just doesn't show in the share price. You can agree or disagree but that is a fact.
