Logan Copper appoints Bergey director on Khan resigning

2012-04-02 17:58 ET - News Release

Mr. Thal Poonian reports

DIRECTOR CHANGES FOR LOGAN COPPER BOARD

Logan Copper Inc. has appointed William (Bill) Bergey, PEng, to its board of directors, effective immediately.

Mr. Bergey, PEng, has been employed in mineral exploration and development for the past 64 years. He began his career as a geologist for Dr. N.B. Keevil in consulting and in exploration work for the junior mining companies of the Keevil group that led to the formation of Teck Corp. During this period, he discovered the exceedingly high-grade Temagami mine, and he directed the development and the initial mining of the deposit.

Mr. Bergey later spent 12 years in the Caribbean and Chile, where he directed regional exploration work for junior companies, some of which were associated with Dr. Keevil and Teck. One of his discoveries was the major Vivi porphyry copper-gold deposit in Puerto Rico.

On his return to Canada, Mr. Bergey rejoined Dr. Keevil and set up an office for Teck in Vancouver. (Eventually, Vancouver became the head office of Teck.) Soon afterward, he discovered the Bullmoose coal deposit, and he directed its exploration and early development to the feasibility stage. This was Teck's first experience in the coal business -- experience that led to the company's becoming the second largest exporter of coking coal in the world. Subsequently, Mr. Bergey became involved mainly with management of junior companies of the Keevil Mining Group, along with worldwide property examinations, and with exploration of the areas in proximity to Teck mines.

Following his retirement from Teck, Mr. Bergey has been a geological consultant, as well as an explorationist for his own account. Most recently, the major focus of his attention has been on a geological revision of the region south of Kamloops Lake, a region that includes the major deposits of the Highland Valley, the Iron Mask batholith and Copper Mountain.

Thal S. Poonian, president and chief executive officer of Logan Copper, commented: "Bill's extensive knowledge of the Kamloops Lake region, which includes our Logan Lake property, makes him a valuable addition to our team. I look forward to working with Bill as we further explore our Logan Lake property."

Logan also wishes to announce the filing of its National Instrument 43-101-compliant technical report prepared by Mr. Bergey, PEng, dated Feb. 17, 2012. The report evaluates the recent and historical exploration work conducted in 2010 and 2011 on the 56,017-hectare Logan Lake project, which is centred on the town of Logan Lake, B.C. This report also includes information included in a prior NI 43-101-compliant technical report on the property, "Dansey project technical report," by Laurence Sookochoff, PEng, and Dr. Zonghua Pan, PhD (Sookochoff & Pan, 2010), which was submitted in July, 2010. Both reports are available at SEDAR.

Asif Khan has resigned as a director of the company and from his memberships on the audit, compensation and corporate governance committees to pursue other interests, effective this date. The company wishes Mr. Khan well in all his future endeavours and thanks him for his services to the company.

Mr. Bergey has agreed to serve on the audit, corporate governance and compensation committees, effective April 2, 2011.

We seek Safe Harbor.
