Ron, in regards to your question, this was a voluntary choice. I strongly believe that shareholders should engage their boards and management teams during critical junctures in order to make sure that shareholders interests are put forward. As a matter of fact, I will be publishing a book in June where I detail my investment and activism experience and argue strongly for improved Canadian corporate governance and increased shareholder oversight.
As for getting the press release on CNW, any retail investor has the possibility of publishing a press release with them once their account has been opened and verified, however getting the press release vetted by a lawyer and getting it published does entail a cost in the range of $1K to $2K depending on the complexity and the length of the release.
