I'm back in! Woohoo! (Bought 2100 shares @ 4.97)
I'm back in! Woohoo! (Bought 2100 shares @ 4.97)Allright, I am once again officially an owner of Longview Oil!
Woohooo!
I had originally bought/sold Longview Oil shares for a profit in the recent run up.
But now I'm back!
I'm back in the sadle with the rest of you, and this time I think I'm going for the FULL-MONTY and seeing this thing through to the glorious end!
Thus I think those 2100 shares I bought this morning (@4.97) might just be mine forever, and will be retired with the company when Longview perhaps get bought out in the next few weeks/months from now.
I almost hit the buy button during this morning's frenzy, when Longview dipped to "4.88" per share... So I'm upset with myself for hesitating... but hey 4.97 is a good enough price for me!
And again, if the deal falls through, then I'm ok with owning those longview shares and collecting my dividends.
And of course... the fact that I bought/sold Longview shares a few times here and there... kinda makes me a hated "trader".
But I take great pride today in ownership of my 2100 Longview Oil shares, and at heart I'm really a value investor (who has read too many Buffett books, and dividend investing books, and value investing, etc..).
But sometimes I like to "trade" on the sideline (in addition to my longterm investments) for the fun of it, just to add some excitement to my investing life!
Afterall, Buffett's inspiration and university professor -- the famous Benjamin Graham -- actually directly stated in his book "The Intelligent Investor" that it's ok to put aside a smaller amount of cash for more fun/trading on the sideline. (But of course he doesn't advocate putting all of your cash in such investing! So don't do it!)
But even with my so called "speculative-fun-risky-trading-cash" I always nevertheless tend to stick with good valuable companies that I wouldn't mind owning for the longer term, and that are going for a discount, or are on somewhat of a dip.
So that policy has served me well thus far.
Anyways, good luck and Godspeed to all my fellow Longview owners!
