Some selling

Some selling this morning, probably on disappointment we haven't heard about the offer yet. And someone took advantage of that disappointment, put up a big ask at $5 on the open, and spooked some weak hands into selling. The oldest trick in the book. But the share price is already coming back.

the problem with stocks is you can quote the fundamentals until you are blue in the face.. but that doesn't mean squat.. its what the market will bear.. advantage dumped it.. the previous buyer pulled out.. not trying to be negeative but it is what is .. and right now its under 5 bucks..

Usually the fundamentals show themselves in the longer term as long as there aren't some sort of major unexpected problems before the long-term comes. One of the biggest mistakes I tend to make is selling too soon when I have a good profit in front of me even when my fundamental analysis tells me I should be holding out for significantly more. agreed, but sometimes you go down with the ship standing by your fundamentals, buying on all the dips etc.. take a look at DM.. all you hear on that board is what giant deposit they are sitting on.. buy buy buy. how the market perceives the stock trumps fundamentals every time.. for a more dramic example, look at twitter. the market says its worth 30billion..

Some of you clowns need to put the hash pipe down and start educating yourself about the oil patch. You have a 6000 boe/d outfit with $120 million of debt paying out over 100% of cash flow. That structure is not sustainable. Therefore you either can grow this company by issuing equity: using the shares as currency to fund growth or  sell via a merger with a larger, deeper pocketed suitor. You ...more

Bshort, I am not sure many are expecting a deal at 80K per flowing. At $6.5 (25c either side) which is where I expect a deal to take place, the per flowing metric would be $70K per flowing on 2013 trailing and $66K on 2014 forward estimates. I do agree that a merger with a stronger player makes tremendous sense, LNV doesn’t have access to equity capital due to its low valuation and stressed ...more

I hope all shareholders prosper on the eventual outcome. Just wanted to point out the counter intuitive as to the process that has been occurring.

I think you're rounding up on the debt a few million and you're making the payout ratio sound worse than it is. Payout is what, 102%? That's actually good compared to a lot of those 'well run dividend paying intermediates'. You're also ignoring the fact that with the dividend cut and large increase to capex, production is expected to grow - which will improve the payout ...more
