'BEIJING — Ice swimmers were taking their shocking plunges in north China through the thickest ice in years, but most Chinese nationwide are shivering through the coldest weather in nearly three decades.

But it will be in the 50's in Michigan today and tomorrow.  Never had that kind of weather up there when I was growing up. January was usually the worst month of the year.  Last year their winter was very mild as well.  Good thing LLEN doesn't sell coal here.

Uh-huh...and here in NoCA it is 24* at 6:45 am.  It is crazy.  It will only be in the high 40's today.  I grew up in Boston and I remember it being in the low 20's in Jan as we walked to school. Sharpei
