I wonder how far we away we actually are from seeing EPA compliant plants that will create cost effective electric. I wonder if we will see one plant in the next couple of years that will be cost effective enough to blow away natural gas. If we could just hear about one actual plant being built for a cost low enough to compete with NG, I believe coal stocks would immediately soar on the logic that such plants would be built all over the US and in other countries, including China. Just one tech breakthrough and one plant. I wonder if such a wildcard could pop up overnight and send the world investment communities into coal stocks even faster and more robust than the internet tech associated investments of the 90's. Just one. Just one is all we need.>

I don't know how much progress was made over what period of time with EPA and cost acceptable clean coal technology, but it does appear to me to be getting verg close to commercial implementation. One reason why is not only from the Ohio article Race posted here the other day and others before by Sharpei regarding Chinese technology, but because complicated software now days serves to ...more

 "I remember we used to think Russia was the second largest financial and military power in the world until one day in 1992 we read on the front page of every large newspaper that it collapsed and its perceived power was a mere illusion"  That should have stated "USSR" (not Russia). No wonder I subconsciously thought Bar was going to correctly correct me.
