not sure exactly - but i think too many were too heavy oil - i think expecting it to go higher based on ISIS and other political risk, never happened and then when went south based on world growth slowing some, i guess it started the selling, which then created more selling and ect, as many of these hedgies are leverage pretty high and thus get margin calls....
