I can just imagine what would happen if the company took your advice and put out that PR.   We would probably crash down to 1.00 within a couple of days.  No thanks, no need for that kind of PR.  I'd rather drift down slowly than crash in a panic frenzy.   As someone before me said  "no need for a play by play", we get paid to wait.
