Using your water hose analogy; when you turn the taps on water doesn't instantaneously flow into the pool - the line must fill first. If the hose was 1 metre long the water would begin filling the  pool fairly quick. Imagine a 51000 metre hose, it would take a significantly longer time until you saw any water out of the other end - because the line fill (pipe volume) is much much greater. If you pumped at a higher rate, therefore higher pressure, yes the line would fill faster - but the volume to fill the pipe would be essentially the same."Essentially" because there would be some compressibility of the oil at higher pressure.
But, because Mart already stated that the line was full this whole conversation is useless and I just wasted 5 minutes of my life that I will never get back.
