nigerian childrens hospital

for the $3 contest?Something to think about.May be premature to contemplate, but hopefully not.

OT kinda but relevant since this is the current them of this thread. For anyone interested in the topic of charities and/or sponsoring children in 3rd world countires etc.....This may be of interest to you.I was doing some DD on Sandstorm gold and energy/metals and naturally googled Nolan Watson. What a guy.A graduate of UBC,so a local boy to me.We all know his Silver Wheaton fame as yougest CFO ever of a billion dollar NYSE company at 26.Voted most motivated CFO and on and on.....amazing really.what I didn't know is his humanitarian interests and that it was what drives him so hard.He wanted to do humanitarian work full time but his father urged him to be successful in business as he could do more good that way.Needless to say it worked out well. He,as an accountant, studied charities and found despite their claims,a huge amount of the donations go to admin. So,he started his own chairty to prevent that.Nationscry.com.In an interview he was asked why he worked so hard(insane hours). His reply(to paraphrase) was that he knew children would die every minute he wasn't working to prevent it.Whether you align with his beliefs or not, that is some serious motivation.Worth some investigation if you are interested in contributing to a good charity where you know the money will be well spent.

At the annual meeting Wade alluded to several local community programs that either Mart or he himself is involved. If people here are serious about giving back to where our profis come from (and it sounds like they are!) this would be a good lead to follow up on.
