RE: The Superbug is born >>>After the swine flu,or the Influenza A H1N1, virus achieved media superstardom in the past12 months before bowing out of the world stage unceremoniously lastweek, its place has been taken by a new superstar.A new gene, New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase or NDM-1 found in gut bacteria in patients treated in some Indian hospitals is alleged to be the new sensation.Aroutine scientific paper to appear in science journal Lancet by aninternational team of researchers including a Briton and an Indian, isthe cause of regional alarm. The bacterial gene, found in one to three percent of patients with enterobacteriaceau infections in India, has reportedly become resistant to all known antibiotics.

FortunatelyMedicago will soon be able to produce a large quantity of life savingvaccines this in a record time, making it the first responder when deadlyviruses and bacteria threated mankind

Ricky,
This new super bug is an enzyme that attaches itself to bacteria so that the bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics. The super bug is not a virus so vaccines even those produced by Medicago's proficia isn't going to help. Thought you should know.
