Shorting question
i have a basic knowledge of how shorting works but I don't get why someone would want to keep a stock price down for so long.
I would assume the shorter would want to cover the short as soon as possible so they can stop paying the stock borrowing cost. Or do they think they could push the price even further to increase the profits made on the price drop and that offsets the borrowing costs?
I just don't get how keeping our stock price low is helping anyone make money.
