National Energy Board Meets with the NWT

National Energy Board Meets with the NWT
The Chair, Board members and staff of the National Energy Board (NEB) are meeting with various NWT parties:  GNWT, NGO’s, Chamber of Commerce, aboriginal organizations and regulators. The NEB wishes to engage with as broad an audience as possible, to explain the role of the NEB in regulating of oil and gas exploration and development activities (e.g., current activity in the Sahtu), and in anticipation of an application for a deep-water offshore exploration well in the Beaufort.

The NEB is also seeking views on priorities for the NWT, in regard to its mandate as the primary oil and gas regulator (sustainable development, regulatory change, etc.).

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 20 from 7-10 AM at the Explorer.  If you are able to attend please advise by noon Friday, February 08.
