Alterra has been a loser for so long they hardly know it

Management can become immune to bad news and accept it as "normal" for them.
The pain is also eased a lot if big pay packets keep coming as if the company was successful

Lethargy sets in.  But eventually, reality hits even the worst companies in the head.
This may be happening with Alterra.  Of course, projects come in on time and under budget and production comes in at budget or over budget at each facility.  But where is the beef?  The fact is that there is no beef just a bunch of guys telling empty stories. All projects everywhere come in under budget so long as the budget is always revised upwards to a number that is higher than actual cost.  Likewise with timelines. Simple.

Ross Beaty may, at last, be sick of it all as he has seen himself as a winner for decades in the mining space.  It must hurt.

Even Northland, may have become lazy?  In any case, the mere mention of a strategic review and the share price rises

Please, everybody.  Keep linking Alterra to the words "Strategic Review".  Enough mentions should take the price to a dollar right away AND management may be uprooted from their acceptance of mediocrity.

BoldForbes; You make exactly my point.   The share price of Alterra is cheap, cheap.  I agree.  As this is not a short term matter but rather the current share price reflects  the way investors see the performance of Alterra management over the years.  You can see the result by the share price about how the market perceives and evaluates AXY management quarter by ...more
