some reading

Some info about the crooks behind Mahdia: Larry Melnick & James Boyle, insiders: https://www.investmentexecutive.com/news/from-the-regulators/osc-adjourns-hearing-for-boyle-melnick-and-malone/ These two were busted as part of a scheme using the shares of three companies ripping people off and putting millions in their pockets. Krishna (Kris) Sammy, director of Mahdia Gold Guyana: https://docs.iiroc.ca/DisplayDocument.aspx?DocumentID=1702C7F7835F4D48B54313C690801628&Language=en Kris was busted for dumping his own holdings of MGD shares while making purchases of MGD shares on behalf of his clients on the same day. He has been banned by IIROC for five years and given a penalty of $250,000. Since he's been hiding in Guyana for years, he was represented by a familiar name at his hearings: Eddie Chan. Kris was also sued by his former employer for $700,000 and lost, so I'm sure he'll be in Guyana for a while: https://www.investmentexecutive.com/news/industry-news/dismissed-advisor-must-repay-transition-loan-court-rules/

I think the only reason old shareholders will get something back by way of a new issue share in the newco is because several Guyana gov't officials were investing by way of private placement and open market buying. I met with a lot of gov't  reps in Guyana who told me themselves how much they were putting in. I don't think the newco can just start up and forget the old shares. But ...more

The fact that Michael Smith is one of those early investors gives me some hope that he is actually trying to make something of this, but there’s shady people in both countries tied to MGD.   There’s been zero accountability for years, so who’s to say that the prominent Guyanese investors haven’t already been compensated?  I’m sure many have been taken care of already or heads would have ...more
