It looks like some retail investors were screwed royally here, noting new. The issue here is how is Yamana going to perform from now on with the Gold Price, mostly the take over companies are going down the drain after the take over and therefore your losses are total.   Had a similar case with Eurus Christallex in the late eighties early nineties, Christallex wanted to take over Eurus
