Where does it say they are reducing output ?

The release says they are reducing employees and reviewing corporate structure, ie. trimming a little fat. Standard practise in any industry where making money is the main goal.

are we or are we not better off with the injection of galena money? Tax loss is done. Why would this stock go lower.

From my understanding, this whole thing has been orchestrated by Trafigura and Galena. The reason why MWE went down in earnings in 2014 was because of the poor performance of Dikulushi. It's pretty much dried up. It's time to move to Kapulo and make money. Now I'm no expert when it comes to mining, but wouldn't it make sense to transfer those miners from Dikulushi to Kapulo?  the Board of Directors has also decided to reduce the number of people currently working at the Kapulo project. That statement suggests that they are laying off staff at Kapulo, which isn't even up and running yet, so it seems that Kapulo is on care & maintenance as well. I don't think anything is going to happen until after the shareholders meeting. The SP and trading is the ...more

It seems some people don't know how to read a NR, the bottom line is there is zero production until further notice. I'm sure Galena has a plan, just have to wait and see what it is.

I have a feeling this will work out, the only way for the lenders to get their money back is to sell the operation or put Kapulo into production, so I think Galena will put up the balance of the 33 mil to get production going, but it seems that nothing will happen until after the SH's meeting. I will probably take a position just before the meeting hoping for a positive outcome and make back ...more

I am no expert, I am just expressing my opion based on the same information we all have, and I might be wrong, won't be the first time.

Yes, we have a mining expert in here *rollseyes* - if you gonna comment bluntly like that then at least try to read other people's posts correctly. Not attacking, just saying. But, since you know more than everyone here.. what happens now with the workforce from Dikulushi mine?
