Tata Steel Minerals Canada Limited (“TSMC”) has entered into a life of mine Confidential Rail Transportation Contract and Locomotive Rental Agreement with Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway Company Inc. (“QNS&L”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Iron Ore Company of Canada, for the transportation of iron ore products produced from the Direct Shipping Ore (“DSO”) Project owned by TSMC, from Emeril Junction, Newfoundland and Labrador (“NL”), to Arnaud Junction in Sept-Îles, Quebec (“QC”).
QNS&L is a federally regulated common carrier. Railcars will be provided by TSMC. Locomotives will be provided by QNS&L, along with certain infrastructure improvements for which TSMC will provide funding.
