So this new lionwhisperer comes out of the blue and says that the actual bashing is not a big deal... odd... and further argues against confidence but in a measured and perfectly legal way. It seems odd but I don't have to understand it. Just seems odd to me.

I have no idea what will or will not happen in this particular instance. However you still couldn't be more wrong . This literally falls under defamation. Defamation is actionable. It is not "illegal" perse, but freedom of expression is not freedom from consequences.    Because the defamation in question was done in writing on a bullboard (permanent record) it falls

Again it won't be you lol. First I said I don't k ow what will happen here in this instance (read how far they'll take it etc). Second I never said it's illegal. You're right. It isn't. But it is actionable. No one goes to jail or gets a record for it, but damages can and often do get paid. I won't repeat the rest (it's in this thread) and your reply shows you don

It's certainly actionable.  The company could file a suit no problem.  The question then becomes is it frivolous?  It would be up to the company to prove malice aforethought, that the poster tried to create an impression online that would harm the company.  Blatantly lying about an office being closed and padlocked would not serve the poster well.  It would be easy for

If Paul was a good poker player then we wouldnt be where we are now. Nothing will come of this, just more fluff, waste of time and money. We might as well sue all the pumpers too for the mislead info and lie's. I think I have a good idea who to start with.
