Perron is obviously comfortable, in charge and and on track with his mine development and production plans. He has now turned his attention to creating value. I very much like his style his approach and his willingness to touch on a multitude of his options and expectations to grow the company. Yeah for regulatory reasons he has to be vague but geeze we at least have an inking of the potential possibilities for the course the company is taking under his direction. Perron: My biggest surprise the exploration potential of the company and surprised by how little exploration had been done
earlier in the year the company implied they were going to limit their exploration program this year... covid and the financial uncertainty it had initiated raised their caution flags. Anyone can look at the regional exploration section of the august 6th second quarter press release and see how limited the companies exploration ambitions were. The company sang a different tune in the third quarter earnings press release. oct 30th ...
They had almost doubled their exploration effort. Sure the rising price of gold may have had something to do with it. But their exploration plan seemed to be set in stone as late as august 6th... it was projected to be Just about 14k meters in the august 6th press release.
ken konkins miraculous drilling campaign at treaty creek aside most companies in those austere and higher elevations in the golden triangle are finished drilling by the third week of september.
so what happned on the exploration front in a period of 40 days or so ... The company drilled an additional distance of approximately 10 kilometers for one. More importantly why was it authorized on such short notice....
was it because of visual observation of the core at the hanging wall? The bulk of the extra drilling did go into the hanging wall zone after all.
OK they still met their target for the snowfield east higher grade zone- potential. At first i was dismissive of their effort their... because they did no extra drilling - but they didn't have enough time and probably the drills to do so given their short window of opportunity. So let's wait for the assays before we write the snowfiled east zone off huh?
OK out of the blue Perron opens his webcast with references to his surprise at the extent pretium's exploration potential.... Brownfields and green fields???? hmmm is hanging wall greenfields or brown fields. is it a high grade VOK clone? The assays are pending and the CEO is hot to trot on the exploration potential... And then he says our increased level of our exploration is one of the most meaningful things pretium has done this year.
What!!! So in the first two minutes did Perron reveal more than he intended to do about this years exploration results..
Ar any rate we've got some hope and the potential to get ones head loaded into the handbasket by jean paul mining man marat on this one.
I can't wait to find the time to parse his - well what i think is his oblique reference to the companies consideration of selling snowfield...
