Construction in Quebec

Quebec has had a terrible reputation for decades, in the construction realm. The unions fleece corporations. Corruption is consider normal. Example: The 1976 Montreal Olympics was 13x over budget. There are many similar examples. Do a Google search for "Quebec construction cost overruns".

Even if Pallinghurst or other group comes to the financial rescue, the issue of corrupt unions and cost overruns will be the elephant in the room. The good news is that regardless of the costs, NMX's sizeable lithium deposit will remain untouched in the ground and neither the unions or NMX management can muck that up.

Shumvy, I think referencing a construction project of over 40 years ago is a bit much there.  But as  mentionned earlier, the market is incredibly hot and labor is missing so they absolutely need to make sure of costs which is why I believe they are taking their time. Plus with government backup, it does help their odds Just get the financing done already so we can focus on production ...more

1976 olympic games cost overrun were a combination of corruption and the fact that they were super late and had to pay people ridiculous wages, forgo any negotiation process on anything they were buying, and didn't have the time to setup proper monitoring of the construction sites. They got bled out because of poor planing. To say corruption is considered normal is quite a stretch. You' ...more
