RE:RE:RE:seeking alpha Nevsun pieceI don't have the contacts and insights that Reaper does (and thanks for your posts) but having been. involved in many of these situations in my former life, once a data room is put together and made available, what we know is merely the tip of the iceberg. We see and hear about LUN/ESM - which is the part if the ieberg we see. Most of the action, however, is going on below the surface and we don't know what that is, yet. A couple of things most of us can agree on are (a) NSU is worth more that its current share price indicates, and (b) the LUN/ESM "proposals" are insufficient and relatively amateurish.
Moving forward, I'm concerned about a couple of things. First, I am hoping that the Board and Senior Management is constantly being reminded by the retained professionals that they are merely agents acting on behalf of, and in the best interests of, shareholders. I've experienced the emotions involved when being in play without a "golden" parachute to cushion the landing and it is not a warm and fuzzy feeling. The self-preservation instinct in these situations is quite powerful.
Second, while I am confident that Peter K and his team can successfully design and build out the Timok project, that will still take quite a bit of time and there are always unexpected issues and complications. More concerning too me is their relative inability to effectively communicate to potential and current shareholders the real value of the company. Remember, immediately before the "proposal" was made public, the stock had moved up some but was still trading at only the mid-C$3s. What happens if, instead of pursuing an outright sale they pursue the strategic route? Are we suddenly confident in NSU's ability to market and promote its real value? At this point I'm not and I would love to hear reasons why I should be.
