RE: Iamgold getting slammed today....

IAG now down 12% to $9.60.  They are projecting production of 875,000 to 950,000 ounces in 2013 at a cost of $850 to $925 per ounce.  By buying both TGZ and OLE they can increase that production by roughly 400,000 ounces per year within a couple of years.  That is about a 45% increase from current (average of 900k this year) production levels. I believe both TGZ and OLE can be had for about $1.2 billion combined. About $500 million for OLE and $700 million for TGZ.  Not bad considering you get a newly renovated and upgraded mill and well over 10 million ounces of gold. In my opinion it would seem very logical for IAG to be very interested in these two properties especially with their current production and cost issues.  In fact I would be surpised if they were not.
