I now believe that TGZ can buy OLE. Do you guys think my assumptions as far as financing are correct? TGZ will control millions of ounces of high grade gold if they are able to buy OLE.  This would allow them to secure a decent size loan in order to buy OLE will lots of cash and some TGZ stock.

I am going back and forth in my speculation here (IAG still being my favorite) but after careful analysis last night I believe that if both TGZ and OLE give in a bit they can hammer out a deal that will be beneficial to both parties.  I do think Chet and company would take $1.50 per share (in cash or stock or both) especially if it comes from TGZ because of their proximity and the ability to have a quick ramp up to production. They can create value pretty quickly by combining. Comments?

Tony, I don't think the question is who but when. IMG has recently lost 50% of their market cap which makes them a takeover target themselves along with the fact that some larger shareholders are being vocal with their displeasure of management. If they have $2b in liquidity, this can only add to their own buyout concerns. Chet would love $1.50/share but now knows he probably won"t get it ...more

Chet needs to sell soon and accept what is.  The long bull run in gold might be petering out at last and it won't get better a year from now if so.  It will only get harder to build a mine which is a pretty far out prospect.  Imagine raising that capex with 1300 dollar gold if things go in an unexpected direction.  The time to sell is NOW.  There will be other ...more
