Trade war not that bad for gold

Trade war not that bad for gold
Trade war not that bad for gold. imo

The health and vitality of the U.S. semiconductor industry is essential to America’s future competitiveness,” President Ronald Reagan declared while slapping import tariffs on America’s largest Asian trading partner. “We cannot allow it to be jeopardized by unfair trading practices.” Why semiconductors? “Chips,” the New York Times explained, “the tiny slivers of silicon that are the essence of computers and other electronic products, are considered vital to national security.” The year was 1987. The Asian country on track to be No. 1 in technology: Japan

Trumps trade war has highlighted China's disadvantage in semiconductors and intellectual property.  And has hastened China to become a  major intellectual property producer.  How long before the transformation is evident is a guess, the Dragon can move fast.  Anyway will help gold now or in near future. imo

"The United States recognizes the importance of intellectual property protection," the agreement says. "China recognizes the importance of establishing and implementing a comprehensive legal system of intellectual property protection and enforcement as it transforms from a major intellectual property consumer to a major intellectual property producer. China believes that enhancing intellectual property protection and enforcement is in the interest of building an innovative country, growing innovation-driven enterprises, and promoting high quality economic growth."
