RE:RE:OREA, Montagne d'Or and the wait.BG, I think we are all free to post our views here. Several others do post their perceptions which may not necessarily reflect mine, but that is their right. I choose to read such posts because they may help me question my own views or add to the information I have on a company. In fact, I write these detailed posts as a way to help my own reflections develop over time.
Let me reflect on several of your comments regarding my previous post.
“First of all, we are at the end of the exploration phase, the Esperanto project you are referring to is at the research stage, they are still at the early stage of exploration”. Reading the article and knowing anything about Montagne d’Or, yes, we would recognize the difference between both projects. However, I cited the article because it is recent and highlights the ‘green’ concern that this early-stage exploration project is still ongoing; even though the authors believe Montagne d’Or is dead. The article, if you read it closely, therefore, suggests the internal struggle in France itself over the whole issue of mining. So, this may give hope to those who believe Montagne d’Or will see the light of day. The question then becomes when is this likely to happen?
“I have no idea where u got the 5+ from”. If you followed the recent French election, you would have seen the degree to which Macron (to gain the green vote) highlighted his opposition and denial of Montagne d’Or (The Golden Mountain). It was one of 3 major projects Macron touted his Admin’ had killed to ‘save’ the environment.
My point is Macron is in for another 5-year term and has been in direct opposition to Montagne d’Or since 2019. Another poster here believes he will be out of office prior to his term ending due to global events and he may be right. However, presently we know he has 5 years and has given no public indication he will change his environemtal stance (after his signing the Anti Deforestation Agreement at COP26, attacking Brazil's Bolsanaro over his approach to the Rainforest and his hard line reelection stance, etc).
Unfortunately, I missed the 'severity' of Macron’s 180-degree switch in 2019, which by the way he has publicly acknowledged as an understandable cause for Montagne d'Or supporters’ concern (and an issue that OREA might use in any future negotiations). However, NG did not miss this switch, hence their R-F 1989 Investment Treaty legal action against France from June 2020.
“Your predictions are coming from someone…” I like to think that my perspectives utilize the public information out there (as I do for all my stocks). I will consider information from both anti and supportive sources for a company/project.
As I indicate the information out there seems to indicate that both NG and OREA want out of FG. NG in their legal action have it seems asked for damages only, not the exploration or final mine permit. OREA recently have dropped their Maripa exploration despite the money already spent. Their focus now appears to be on their near completed acquisition of the project in Suriname.
I sense that OREA wants to monetize Montagne d’Or now rather than try to hang onto it until at least after Macron’s term is up (I may be wrong). Such a limbo would be a severe drag on the sp (if a spinoff didi not occur).
In fact, this may be a win win for all parties if France was to buyout Montage d’Or from OREA (hence their negotiation to take over from NG as lead manager). France puts this issue to rest (at least till the Russian debacle and Macron’s term are over). NG may get their sunken costs back (rather than an expropriation) and OREA stands to garner tens of mills $$ as the really injured party (sunken costs plus award for harm to company/shareholders).
Imagine what the removal of the FG issue, adding millions in compensation to the coffers (have not even considered if the French SC was to award delay damages as another poster believes is possible) and advancing a new project in mining friendly Suriname may have on OREAs sp. Especially, over the next couple of years in potentially a very positive gold market? Both swing traders (those who know what they are doing) and longer-term investor would benefit., IMHO very handsomely.
So, BG if you have questions on elements of my posts, please feel free to ask them and I will try to answer them or you could cite your own logically supported perceptions. Discussion hopefully helps us all in our DD.
However, if you are really disturbed by my viewpoints you are free to simply ignore. I don’t see how more emotional responses help any trader/investor. Hope this helps.
