I was watching CNN this morning and I was shocked to hear this but Fareed Zakaria stated the any efforts on climate change are useless without getting Asia on board . China , India and Russia continue to generate >70% of their electricity by burning coal .Converting those plants to LNG would cut THE LARGEST source of emmisions by an amount that would dwarf ALL north american emmisions .

It was also suggested that a Carbon Bank be set up like the IMF or the world bank . Efforts made in Carbon capture or exporting clean energy and technology would result in credits for those countries exporting the technologies . When polititions accept that this is a global problem and not a North American problem , it will allow the economy to prosper as well as helping Asian nations deal with emmisions in a meaningful way .

Now we all know Mr Dress Up can't admit that this is an Asian problem , not an Alberta problem but if this country can wake up before October , help might very well be on the way . Although another 4 years of the drama teacher will damage Canada beyond repair and bury us in debt for the next century .
