Pure speculation on my part but an all or part share deal from a Tourmaline or Arc Resources etc player will be a better deal than the present offer and also one that will be more difficult for CNQ to match.

On the other hand, intermediates may not be big enough to absorb the contracts and hedges in the short term. Too much risk.
