the short answer is NO.

Wynd...  I like to think of it like this.  Guys who think the stock are going up,  buy shares... guys who think the stock is going down, sell shares they dont own.  In reality,  there are FAR more people who buy for appreciation, but it doesnt make shorting evil.

What gives shorters this evil nemesis perception, is that they by nature negatively affect the majority....  at least if they are doing it in an agressive manipulative manner.   But make no mistake,  the same things happen on the long side.   There are plenty of scenarios where large agressive funds talke large long positions,  and then actively buy to take advantage of thin liquidity to increase the mark to market value of their holdings .

RC ;  completely agree.   The whole Anonymous thing is ridiculous...  but you gotta go fight city hall on that one.
