Did you ask about NET contribution to bottom line?  Open for business means zilch.  And neither does "contribute revenue". PLI was open for business for two decades blowing gazillions, some of it Thomson money, but profitability was always around the next corner.
As I and many others have pointed out here there is little profit in collecting and selling plasma.

Heck, even Hema Quebec and the Red Cross are in the collection business.
