Theory
TheoryHow about this one for a quasi-conspiracy theory:
All of us, most significantly PGD management, have long known that CH-6 is the most prospective kimberlite out there. Yet the results have been forced to the back of the pile.
Knowing that BHP's decision would have to be made by the end of November, PGD planned for the CH-6 results to be released as late as possible, for materially positive results may have swayed BHP into deciding to opt in for an additional 7%.
By pushing the results to the back of the queue, PGD gave themselves the highest probability of holding onto their 49% ownership, which they consider to be the most beneficial outcome.
Now that the decision has been made, we will see a slew of results in the very near future, and BHP will be kicking themselves while PGD shareholders pull a Mr. Burns by rubbing their hands together and muttering "Exxxxcellent."
