Area "B"

Now I am hoping xDeBeers or somebody with more background than myself in actual field work can answer something. To report that they found indicator minerals over an area, such as the 60 hectares they mention above, do they say find one piece here and another piece way over there and then they call it 1,000 by 600. Or does this imply they found indicator minerals routinely across an area 1,000 by 600 metres, I am just not sure what the qualifications are to be able to say you found it over an area.
Any help is appreciated as I cannot find a lot of information on the reporting of such things online.
