RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Introduction

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:IntroductionThanks Ekim for your insight.  I'm a big fan of the north as well for the reasons you outlined.  The political environment is safe, the governments are supportive, and first nations are more accommodating in general.

I'm looking at Ontario's Ring of Fire, but not committing to anything until the federal government committs to helping the province build infrastructure and timelines set.  I still need to do a lot of research and do not see committing to anything for 1-2 years.

I especially like Quebec's north for the following reasons:
- accommodating First Nations
- Plan Nord committment - I think the number is 40-50 billion dollars
- the Liberal government will not allow a Quebec based company to fail provided the resources are proven

I worked for an international consulting engineering firm for years out of Toronto in various executive roles and as an geoenvironmental engineer so I have a bit of knowledge of the dynamics and potential in the north.  All engineering firms continue to align themselves for the northern expansion, we just need the financing sector to get their confidence back in resources, which will happen with time IMO.  I can see private equity getting more involved but only a few firms who have a 7-10 year exit strategy.  Mining is generally new to them and they don't quite understand it yet.
