First off. Inuit people do not have "chiefs" and Nunavut is not a reserve. The rules are very well defined and spelled out. The land Chidliak is on is primarily Crown land, not Inuit owned land. Second. Both the Premier, Peter Taptuna, as well as the vast majority of people in Iqaluit are very much in favor of the project. As it would pump much needed funds into local coffers and local businesses. Iqaluit is the Yellowknife of Nunavut and it is LIGHT YEARS ahead of every other community.
