An example of where this is necessary goes back to 1999 to 2001 era.

A lot of tech companies were listed on the NASDAQ at let's say $5 per share.
Then they hit some hard times and went down to 75 cents per share...but maybe they figure they are going through a rough spot and brighter times ahead.

NASDAQ will give the company a small amount of time to get back over the $1 requirement and if not...they will be delisted.

The prestige for a tech company to list on the NASDAQ at that time was valuable...so it would make clear sense to do a consolidation of shares to adhere to a listing rule.

PGD is not a tech company on the NASDAQ. The year is not 2000. The TSX exchange wants annual members fees...so it is pretty lax on any rules they do or do not have.

I don't see any technical, fundamental or economic reason for PGD to conslidate shares.
