Better be better than KDI's latest news

this morning. 1.93 carats per ton but largest diamonds were .22 carats and flawed. Out of KDI for now. They need to finance soon. Then again will PGD ever get anything processed? Guys on ski's and kayaks would be quicker.

Not having results yet should not be a surprise to anyone here. Chidliak is on an island, sea-lift only comes a few times a year, Iqaluit is regularly iced in for extended periods of time. The company expressed the fact they would be shipping via sea lift as it is the most cost effective way to ship that much weight. We will probably get news out of the summer program long before we get any news ...more

I reviewed the ships Ekim had on noted on a previous post for the sealift and all four are somewhere in waters north of Labrador according to Marine traffic.

Nice info. Where do you find marine traffic online? All 4 vessels in question should be approaching Iqaluit over the next 1 to 5 days. Thanks. LONG...PGD EKIM

Two sites I've found, one called Marine Traffic, the other called Fleetmon. You can subscribe for free 14 and 30 day free trials. Pay a subscription and they tell you exactly where the ships are. Only one ship is scheduled into Iqaluit in the next two days and that's a chemical vessel.

Please, I'm not saying this not interesting stuff, but are we getting a little carried away with the travel iterianry of the samples? Whats next?  When it reaches solid ground, is it going by train, truck?  Are we going to try and figure out the carrier and the route schedule and on and on?  Will there be road construction or accidents along the way that delay the delivery ...more

The result from Kdi 's latest sample was from just less than a ton of material, so I don't think the result was so bad, but yes, imagine a 10 c size nice stone in that small a sample size, would be considered a fluke no doubt?

my guess KDI of 2ct pt was close.now we might see if my $145 ct is close.
Comment by ekim on Jul 15, 2015 10:49am
They have to produce larger stones to get close to 145.  Good news for them is that even $50 to $75 per carat doesnt sink the project. Wait and see. Ekim

yes ekim you are right the Jay pipe has 2ct per ton and its only boarder line economic with an expected low IRR.So it is not out of the question if no large stones are in the bulk sample Kennady could be a bust.If so all eyes will shisft from NAR and KDI to PGD (the real diamond mine)
Comment by MrBigger on Jul 15, 2015 10:50am
Have not seen any "large" diamonds from KDI in a long time. Could you have 2 carats per ton and not be economic?? I am pretty sure .2 carat included rough diamonds would not cut it, am I wrong?

Suremakes ch31 and that 1.15 carat stone look great. We havent seen the last of ch31. Ekim
