Preaching to the choir

I know we complain when someone posts somewhere else that is off topic...yet is there value?

I wrote my last blog post on comparing Chidliak to Gold producers @ $ per ounce comparison.
Then I went and shared it with a generic gold/silver forum.

Moderator didn't really care for the post and relevance to that forum and left my message there...but did level a criticism on the project.

In the end...20 different participants came from that forum over to the blog to check it out.
20 participants who probably never heard of Chidliak...now they have heard a whisper (no intended pun to my earlier posts last week :))

Is there a gray area here?? or should one only stick to the forums of complete relevance ..but also  knowing that you are basically preaching to the choir at that point.

Makes for an interesting topic.

LONG...PGD

Just as a follow up. How does one like myself or James or Cudjo or anyone here try and convince someone out there that Chidliak has good economics even though it is a diamond mine? The attitude of the other forum moderator I mentioned talking about diamond investments is teh following: "...is extremely difficult to make money in that area as a retail mining investor.' Is the PEA going ...more

My opinion only is that I do like to hear about other projects as this is a public forum and it only becomes an issue for me when the new project becomes "the" project of discussion, basically taking over the forum, or if of course it "seems" like only a over an enthusiastic poster commonly called a pumper, which is another topic. I don't think its a matter of convincing ...more

On a public forum you should be open to all forms of information. It seems ekim that you recieved the same response as "oiltar", right or wrong. I would like to think that if one or two of the 20 posters who visted the chidliak blog does in fact invest in PGD they may, one day, wish to thank you for your post.

For the record, I dont think anyone can convince investors that this, or any company, is a good investment on a public forum, these things have matured in 15-20 years, and enough press has been written on the pump and dumps that were common here.  I think most people who come by are looking for information and it is a form of DD.  For myself, I like a forum where there is a balanced ...more

I come here looking for information on the investment I have made, I have never used SH to decide if I should buy or sell, if anyone does, they don't like thier money.  I am one of the choir here, I read all posts, good and bad.  If I find something to post that will make a contribution, I do it.  That is hard when posters like ekim post it well ahead of me....This forum and ...more

James (Oiltar) promoting on SI and calling us SH's stooges and wants Mike (Ekim) to post his remarks, calculations, from SI to SH. I commented right after James left that I hoped he would reconsider, but that is his decision and if you really want to see what he is posting, go to the SI site I mentioned before. Even without eminent news, this is the time of year that stocks like Pgd " ...more

I am new to both Stockhouse and personal investing. Years of sitting on the sidelines letting money managers take care of things and finally took the leap with a small percentage of my portfolio to do my own investing. As far as I am concerned this is one of the best forums I visit because of the conversation and Mike's input in particular. I don't care whether he's paid or not, he' ...more

NO, your posts are not pointless! Just because you are not an expert, does not mean that you cannot contribute by asking questions, etc. There is a saying, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.  I basically agree with that, so don't stop yourself because you're learning, how else are ya going to figure "stuff" out? We need more posters, experts or not, not ...more
