Mill, the story is a bit clearer now. Release the minimum amount of information in CH7 NR and use this as negotiating tool with BHP.

But if they withheld material information..... would hyrt financing and I doubt if BHP was waiting for CH7 news

I don't see what was left out from the release. But if they used it as a bargaining tool, it hurt the shareholders more than it did BHP. They only lost future revenue, the shareholders lost money, faith and more. I think that maybe BHP might have had a hard time with the trial and the results did not warrant a prolonged fight for them so they settled.
