DDC puts Debeers on notice

Debeers could be shut out of Chidliak for good if DDC does a friendly deal for PGD soon.

It would not be out of the question for Debeers to act fast to block DDCs bid with a first bid of their own.

From: james flannigan 7/8/2016 1:19:36 PM      of 13313   We can not rule out a bid by Debeers for PGD before DDC  Tom P told me Debeers and PGD are in very close contact on a regular basis.Debeers vouched for PGD in the diamond Bourse. Now that DDC has stated in public its hunting to buy ...more

It's DeBeers project if they want it...DeBeers has intimate knowledge of the project and now has a cost. I am surprised that DeBeers threw $20,000,000 at CanAlaska but it's a sign that they are out looking, a good sign. It's always best to have a stalking horse which is exactly what DDC may become...the catalyst to push DeBeers to do a deal sooner rather than later and at a more ...more

De Beers had their wallet squeezed so tightly when anglo acquired them....but once anglo decided Diamonds were one of the few commodities it is going with in the indefinite future, it loosened up some of the purse strings. I think the $CVV deal is a clear example of this. De Beers wants to get involved in future projects, future production in Canada. LONG...PGD EKIM

Will Eric step aside now and unleash Robert as the new chairman of PGD? I had stock in a potash junior "legacy" and Robert was brought on board as chairman with the sole purpose of selling the asset. I can see him wanting complete control.

Eric is just as smart as Robert...  he will sell the company if the price is right
Comment by northmark on Jul 08, 2016 2:13pm
No doubt about that. I was just thinking optics.
Comment by mill44 on Jul 08, 2016 2:23pm
Exactly. I think legally he is nothing more than an outsider.
Comment by mill44 on Jul 08, 2016 2:18pm
I don't think it was ever brought up here, but no one finds it strange that everyone assumes that Robert has powers to decide, yet officially he is nothing more than an investor?
Comment by Kodiboy on Jul 08, 2016 2:23pm
"Nothing" more than an investor?  Who needs glasses now?
Comment by northmark on Jul 08, 2016 2:24pm
That's my point mill. What ever Eric does at the negotiating table will most likely get relayed back to Robert. Any potential purchaser nows full well that they are dealing with Robert so why not have him take the ball and run with it.
Comment by ekim on Jul 08, 2016 2:27pm
Eric's company just moved into Robert's premises 2 or 3 months back. ..just to save money???...or other intent. ...maybe it was just a coincidence that Tom phoned up 10 companies looking to share some space with them and one of them happened to be Ivanhoe Mines and they just happened to have space available....just a coincidence...yup...nothing to do with Eric/Robert here....just walk ...more

Yep nothing to see here. Maybe come back on Tues about 8:00 am pst
Comment by mill44 on Jul 08, 2016 2:33pm
as far as I know Robert is the head negotiator already. No need for relaying anything.
