see the value of Chidliaks pipes outcropping at the surface.
While I was in the money on the take over of Winspear I always questioned the the idea of trying to mine a 2 meter pancake at 30 degrees under a lake as a no go.It looks like I was right and will be right on a JV or takeover of PGD due to the fact it is a one of a kind outcrop in Canada mine.

It gets back to strip ratio. Forget long term slope stability. If they can do a short term 100 m shallow pit at a sharp pit angle and get a 2:1 strip ratio that would shave off about $20 per tonne to the operating cost in the pea. This could be applied to any pipe (not ch6 or ch7) that has some nice stones but is on the edge of profit margin. Heck you could do a 50 metre pit design on all ...more

options are endless, as well, look at all the other pipes, not under lakes etc etc etc

Sorry, did not quite finish my post. James claimed that he always questioned that mining Winsspear was not doable, yet as Will P proved, that was not the case way back in 1999/2000 when.he claimed it was a 15 billion dollar play. So you can infer what you will from someone who makes claims that they "knew" better than most and did not appreciate that someone like Will P had the ability ...more
