Just look at KIA's influence over at AEM and SBB.
AEM wanted to do a pilot project on hovercraft use.
The NIRB just rejected it --
NIRB rejects Hovercraft A lot of that on the basis of KIA's comments strongly opposing the pilot project.
KIA is also involved with SBB and wants that project to receive NIRB approval.
Assuming AEM wants to gobble up SBB....and deal with the KIA again that just quahsed their hovercraft plans. Oh the politics and money involved.
Chidliak has no KIA or QIA involved..it is on crown land and has to deal with the federal government, the nunavut territory and the city of iqaluit.
I suspect the only benefit agreement will be a small one with the city of Iqaluit given the fact that the transportation path of goods and materials does go through the city of Iqaluit via the deep water port.
All those Lac De Gras areas have benefits agreements. Don't think any of those are on crown land. Chidliak is a bit of an anomaly in this regard.
