Looking at the diesel that will be stored in Iqaluit in the future.
Currently, there is about 6 million litre capacity.
QEC is doubling that to 12 to 13 million litres and Chidalik will be bringing in another 20 million litres.
That equates to roughly 40K tonnes of oil.
Looking at this link about oil tankers in Canadian waters -->
Oil Tankers in Canadian waters. The smallest one has a payload of aobut 80K tonnes, so a trip to Iqaluit would deliver half its payload and currently that same trip would only deliver about 10% of its payload.
Has to be some synergies in cost savings with the bigger diesel farm at least in freight costs.
Also, I don't even know if they can send a tanker in right now. I assume they will be setting up the new port, etc. to be oil delivery friendly.
Just a bit of side math as Oil is a bit in the news today.
