How do people trade @ .99999

Try and input a third decimal place on a trade and it says please input a valid number. Is this computer trading or big brokers?

I could be wrong but my guess is they are buying Canadian stocks with US funds. It would happen to me when I bought US stocks with CDN funds. When it converts it comes out like that.
