RE:RE:RE:Is this what await us?I enjoyed the Smith Weekly interview too! Not only because of the good deal of information provided, but also because I like the right-to-the-point style of Ted, and the sense of humor he uses to say things.

It's also good to have a seasoned uranium investor like you in this board. Your technical insights are always appreciated!

Regarding BKY, I have not been following it as closely as PLU, but from what I have read, it seems to me that the permitting of their project is ongoing (they have won every dispute in the Spanish Courts), and the opposition they are facing is more of a political than a technical nature. And it's certainly an interesting case because Peru is similar to Spain in many regards. The difference is that, unlike Peru, in Spain the leftist are at the government and are trying to pass a law to exclude uranium exploitation from the allowed mining activities. The thing is that since BKY is so advanced in the permitting process (only the construction license is missing), passing said law would be against the Constitution and would certainly obligue the Spanish State to pay quite a big compensation to BKY.

Remember congressman Marco Arana and his "Open Letter to President Vizcarra against uranium mining"? Well, like in Spain, have no doubt that here in Peru leftists like Arana will make their best to ban uranium mining when the time comes to approve the construction of Macusani or any other uranium project. This a more real risk than any opposition from "anti-mining locals" for PLU. Although I don't see that kind of opposition succeeding in Peru, beware that, again, laws in Peru are similar to those in Spain, and PLU would be granted a compensation in the case of a uranium ban, which would be determined by an International Court in the US. Same applies in the unlikely scenario that some or all of the 32 concessions in dispute are definitely lost.

Now, talking about the concessions, I think Ted offered a good summary of all the factors involved, included the imminent Medida Cautelar. Although he was very clear about this, I'll say it again: the only reason why the judicial (and the administrative) process is advancing so slowly is because of the State of Emergency caused by the pandemic. Haven't covid-19 screwed everything up, we would already have a first-instance favourable judicial decision which would have offered a stronger support for PLU to more confidently advance the projects.

I can also conffirm what Ted said about the pending uranium regulation. Back in September the people responsible of that at IPEN and Minem presented their progress before the Congress Energy and Mines Commission (the link to the video was posted here back then), and they were very specific about the drafts already written and those which were missing back then. If I remember correctly, they mentioned it would be ready this year, or the next one at the latest.
