Appointment of Director with Oil and Gas Experience Regent Ventures
Ltd. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that Kenneth D. (Don) Pilgreen
of Monroe, Louisiana has been appointed to the board of directors of the
Company. Mr. Pilgreen brings to the Board extensive experience in drilling,
completing and operating natural gas and coal bed methane gas wells and has
planned, constructed, maintained and operated over 300 miles of low
pressure gas gathering pipelines and over 100 miles of high pressure
pipelines.
Mr. Pilgreen has nearly 30 years experience in the oil and gas
industry which commenced in 1978 when he was employed as a Petroleum
Geologist and Exploration Manager for Glenda Petroleum Corporation of
Monroe, LA. In this position, Mr. Pilgreen obtained extensive experience in
the drilling of oil and natural gas wells and planned and supervised the
operations of Glenda's gas project in the Monroe Gas Field. Following this,
in 1981, Mr. Pilgreen formed his own company, TerrOnne Petroleum
Corporation, through which he has provided his services as a petroleum
geologist and operator for the last 26 years. Operating as TerrOnne, Mr.
Pilgreen has drilled, completed and operated in the order of 470 natural
gas wells in Louisiana.
In 1986, Mr. Pilgreen also established Pilgreen Producing Company
through which, from 1986 to 1994, he drilled, completed and operated
approximately 600 coal bed methane gas wells in the Black Warrior Basin of
Alabama. In conjunction with these wells, Mr. Pilgreen also planned,
constructed, operated and maintained the associated pipelines and other
infrastructure.
Mr. Pilgreen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, with a
major in petroleum geology, from Nicholls State University and is a member
of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of
Petroleum Engineers and the Geological Society of America. From 1992 to
1996, Mr. Pilgreen served, at the pleasure of the Governor of Louisiana, as
Chairman of The Commerce and Industry Board for the State of Louisiana.
Grant of Stock Options
The Company announces that it has granted Incentive Stock Options on
3,095,000 shares of the Company's capital stock, exercisable up to two (2)
years at a price of $0.30 per share which price is not lower than the last
closing price of the Company's shares prior to this announcement less the
applicable discount. The options are granted pursuant to the Company's
Stock Option Plan and will be subject to applicable regulatory hold
periods.
