Wells  located a "step out" from proven territory in an effort to determine the boundaries of a producing formation. Wells drilled beyond the proven limits of a field to investigate a possible extension to that field.

Um? REV is going Wildcat drilling in Louisiana is what I am reading?

How do you define Wildcat drilling and on what information do you base your opinion. The progression in the oil and gas business is, infill, step out, and then wild cat/exploration. Wildcat/exploration is drilling where there are no producing pools in the area. As far as I can tell, REV is drilling in an area that resembles a pin cushion. As far as I know they have either 20 or 40 acre spacing
